The Padel Invitational court set up in front of the Sydney Opera House sails

Padel Invitational at Sydney Opera House

OCD InEvents was engaged by Seeker Agency as Production Manager for the inaugural Padel Invitational presented by UBS. Working with Tennis Australia, Seeker transformed the Northern Broadwalk of the Sydney Opera House into a temporary padel venue, bringing sport and entertainment to one of Australia’s most iconic locations.

“A padel court on the steps of an icon.”

Sport Meets Sydney Harbour

For the first-ever Padel Invitational, we helped Seeker Agency build a full sporting venue right beside the Sydney Opera House. A court, seats for the crowd and hospitality areas all went up in a busy public space, with the harbour as the backdrop. Then, once the last match was played, it all came down again. Pat Rafter led the line-up, and the event brought top padel players and celebrity matches to one of the most famous spots in the country.

The Project

A unique setting. A complex build. An entirely new sporting experience.

The project centred on delivering a purpose-built padel court and supporting event infrastructure on the Opera House’s Northern Broadwalk, with Sydney Harbour providing a spectacular backdrop.

Production required careful planning to coordinate the temporary installation, supplier access and site operations within a busy public precinct.

The Result

The Northern Broadwalk was transformed into a striking temporary sporting venue, complete with a padel court, spectator seating and hospitality spaces.

The inaugural event brought international padel talent and celebrity exhibition matches to Sydney Harbour, with Pat Rafter headlining the programme.

Working alongside Seeker Agency and Tennis Australia, OCD helped deliver an ambitious production that combined the practical demands of a temporary sporting venue with the expectations of an iconic setting.
